Much of our time since we moved has been taken up with remodelling an out-of-date home. It had potential from the beginning, but it’s amazing what a little color will do. We went to Wal-Mart a week ago Saturday to buy paint for the living room. We had a soft, buttery yellow in mind. However, when we got there, someone had wiped out all but a few of the paint chips in the yellow/orange/red family. In fact, the only pretty yellow left was somewhere between dandelion and canary… we were desperate. Lyon griped about the price of the paint, but I told him that it is cheaper than Prozac, which I would need if I were to continue living in this dark cave as we move into fall. He decided I was right, so we chose the canary colored paint. You know it’s loud when you hear yourself telling someone on the phone that you’re "toning-down" the yellow by adding red curtains! Anyway, it has turned out beautifully, and we love it. I still have to finish the valances for the room, and I need to hem the curtain panels, but I lack about 1/4 a yard of fabric that I’ll hopefully be able to find this week, as I bought out the Hobby Lobby. So, in a week’s time, we updated the look of both the living room and the dining room, which isn’t bad for busy folks!
